Does re-amputation following lower extremity amputation in diabetic or dysvascular patients negatively affect survival?

Objective: We aimed to investigate the characteristics of patients who underwent unilateral amputation due diabetes and peripheral artery disease, as well risk factors that cause re-amputation, determine these patients' survival status for mortality. Patients Methods: This retrospective study included 133 arterial disease between 2012 2018. The etiology amputation, re-operation rate time following initial follow up results were accessed from hospital records. Results: Twenty-eight whereas 105 had vasculopathy mellitus. was 33.8%, median period surgery second six-weeks. Sixty-six deceased survived with a 6 months operation. Conclusion: most crucial factor causing re-amputation non-healing wound problems. should be followed carefully problems in six weeks after surgery. Advanced age, American Society Anesthesiologist grade 4 patients, associating neurological low albumin level, lymphocyte count postoperative intensive care unit requirement all poor prognostic survival.
